2008 Democratic National Convention: Remarks as Prepared for Delivery by David A. Paterson, Governor of New York - The Denver Post
Obama's speach tonight was great! Nice to see history in the making!
From Gov. Patterson's speach from last night: "The promise of America has also diminished for people with disabilities. Only 37 percent of Americans with disabilities are employed. Only 30 percent of blind people are employed."

Radical Cheek
I met Joey when I carried the torch. I support the work of Team Darfurr. At the same time I have been careful about showing that support. My job is to compete while in China- end of discussion.

Timothy Shriver - What 'Tropic Thunder' Thinks Is Funny - washingtonpost.com
Recently a masters level class of marage and family therapy students were asked what they would do if a person with a disability came to them for counseling. 73% stated that they would opt not to serve the person and would refer them out instead. I don't know much about this movie. It is my experience that we have a very long way to go before people with disabilities can walk through the world without wearing the label, freak.

Can an employee be too nice? WorkPlace Catnip
Great post. in the non-profit sector I have also seen many folks who want to change the world by being nice, yet they often don't know a thing about saying no or speaking their mind.
